Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 6, 2026
Thank you for using Stay Healthyr ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. We don't require you to create a traditional account, but the App does store some information — some of it locally on your device, and some in our cloud database — to power features like your dashboard, nutrition tracking, and the 5K Challenge leaderboard. Please read this policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect and Store
When you use Stay Healthyr, the following information may be stored:
- An anonymous profile ID generated automatically on your device (no name, email, or phone number required).
- Health and fitness profile details you enter, such as height, weight, age, blood type, and fitness goals.
- Nutrition entries, including calories and macros from meals you log, scan, or photograph.
- Workout history, completed sessions, and calories burned.
- 5K Challenge / Run Challenge results (distance, time, pace, calories) and, if you appear on the leaderboard, the display name you choose.
- Journal entries and body-weight history you record in the App.
- App preferences such as your selected language.
2. No Traditional Account Required
Stay Healthyr does not require you to sign up with an email address or password. Instead, the App automatically creates a random, anonymous profile ID on your device the first time you use it. This ID (not your name or email) is what links your entered data — like weight, nutrition logs, and workout history — to your profile in our cloud database. Because this ID isn't tied to your real-world identity by default, we don't know who you are unless you choose to tell us (for example, by emailing us or by setting a public leaderboard display name).
3. Location Services
The Run Challenge feature (Hiking, Bike, Run/Walk, and 5K Challenge modes) uses your device's GPS — including in the background while a session is active — to track your route, distance, and pace in real time, and so your session can keep tracking if you switch apps or lock your phone. Your detailed route (the raw GPS trail) is processed and stored only on your device. When a session finishes, only summary statistics — distance, time, pace, and calories — are uploaded to our cloud database if you submit a result to the leaderboard. We also use the Google Maps SDK to display the map during a session, which involves sending location data to Google to render and center the map (governed by Google's own privacy policy).
4. Camera, Photos & AI Food Recognition
If you photograph a meal (or choose an existing photo from your library) to log nutrition information, that image is sent securely to Google's Gemini AI service to identify the food and estimate its nutritional content. The photo itself is used only to generate that estimate and is not permanently stored by us — only the resulting calorie/macro numbers are saved to your profile. If you scan a barcode, the barcode number (not an image) is sent to the free, public Open Food Facts database to look up the product's nutrition information. AI-generated and database-sourced nutrition estimates may not always be accurate — use your own judgment, especially if you have dietary restrictions or medical conditions.
5. Health & Fitness Data
On Android, if you connect Health Connect, we read your daily and weekly step count (read-only — we never write to Health Connect) to power the step tracker on your Dashboard. If Health Connect isn't available or connected, the App can estimate steps using your device's built-in motion sensors instead. Health and fitness data read from Health Connect is used only to display information back to you inside the App — it is never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
6. Advertising
Stay Healthyr shows ads through Google AdMob, including interstitial ads and optional rewarded ads (watching a rewarded ad unlocks extra AI food-photo analyses for free users). Google and its advertising partners may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure these ads, as described in Google's own privacy policy. You can reset or limit ad tracking for your device in your phone's system settings.
7. Subscriptions & Purchases
Stay Healthyr Pro subscriptions are sold and processed through Google Play, and managed using RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. RevenueCat receives purchase and device information needed to verify your subscription and unlock Pro features — we do not see or store your payment details (card numbers, etc.), which are handled entirely by Google. See Google's privacy policy for details on the payment information they hold.
8. Notifications
Meal, workout reminder, and rest-timer notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. We do not use push notifications sent from a server, and we don't know when or whether you've received a notification.
9. Third-Party Services We Use
Stay Healthyr relies on the following third-party services to provide its features:
- Google Firebase (Firestore) — stores your profile data, linked to your anonymous ID.
- Google Gemini API — analyzes food photos to estimate nutrition.
- Open Food Facts — a free, public barcode/nutrition database.
- Google Maps — displays the map during Run Challenge sessions.
- Google AdMob — serves in-app ads.
- RevenueCat — manages Pro subscriptions alongside Google Play.
- Health Connect — provides read-only step data.
10. Your Control Over Your Data
You're in control of the information described above:
- Uninstalling the App permanently deletes everything stored locally on your device.
- You can revoke Camera, Location, Health Connect, Photo Library, or Notification permissions at any time in your device's system settings — the App will keep working, with those specific features disabled.
- To request deletion of data stored in our cloud database (linked to your anonymous profile ID), contact us using the details below and include your profile ID if you have it (found in Settings).
11. Children's Privacy
Stay Healthyr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App. Any significant changes will be communicated through app updates. Your continued use of the App after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
